Covid-19 Exception Policy extended for the Certified Sustainable Beef Framework
Certified Sustainable Beef Framework Canada has extended its temporary exception for all Certification Bodies (CBs) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Standards and Requirements have not changed, but this exception gives CBs alternative ways of checking that these have been met, given the range of Covid-19 restrictions and impacts.
Under the Certified Sustainable Beef Framework, certification would normally be conducted on-site by independent auditors. These auditors work for Certification Bodies approved by the CRSB.
This temporary exception allows for auditing to be conducted remotely, at the discretion of the Certification Body, only when required due to health risks or Covid-19 restrictions.
This exception will now remain in effect until June 30, 2022, or until withdrawn by the CRSB, at its discretion.
The CRSB will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate any further updates.
