Gateway Livestock
Taber, AB.
Meet Jeff Smith of Gateway Livestock.
The Gateway Group of Companies includes Gateway Livestock Marketing Inc., Gateway Carriers and Gateway Livestock Exchange Inc.
We believe we all have a responsibility - from those who raise cattle right through to those who enjoy beef products - to help build and improve operations to be a valued part of a sustainable food system.
We need to work together to enhance animal welfare, the environment, and the workplace with our cattle feeding partners and customers.
About Us
Gateway Livestock Marketing Inc. started in 1998, with 3 members of the Marketing Team, and today is privileged to have grown to over 50 Team Members within 3 Divisions of the Company.
With the ability to provide our customers with up to date information in all sectors of the industry, including Feeder and Slaughter Cattle Marketing, Livestock Risk Management, and Livestock Transportation, we invest in the latest Technology to enhance our customers operation.
Jeff is also a shareholder in Deer Creek Livestock Co. Deer Creek was recognized for their commitment to land stewardship, supporting wildlife and species at risk on their operation, as the 2020 Alberta Environmental Stewardship Award.
The objective of the operation is to produce as much beef as possible off the land, while still caring for the land as best as we can.
The ranch is always looking for ways to improve things without making a mark on the land. Watch this for their story of environmental stewardship.
On Defining Sustainability...
We feel a sustainable company Leads its team and customers to take responsibility based on a shared vision. We must change and adapt to our environment to be successful and being sustainable is the key to the survival of future generations.
Why we became a Certified Sustainable Operation
Gateway Livestock feeds cattle and markets cattle with companies that have a shared vision. We feel that doing what is right and providing the backup information to support that claim will build confidence with our customers around the world.
Our Sustainable Practices...
