CRSB announces CRSB Certified Producer Incentive for Québec

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef is pleased to announce the CRSB Certified Producer Incentive for Québec, a new initiative to recognize and reward beef producers who have taken the time and made the investment to become certified.

CRSB has contracted Les Producteurs de bovins du Quebec (PBQ) to deliver the payments to Quebec beef farmers by the end of October 2026.

The goal of this incentive is to advance CRSB Certified program objectives by supporting beef farmer and rancher certification to CRSB’s Sustainable Beef Production Standard and help enable responsible beef sourcing through certified supply chains.

In its first year (2026), all beef producers who kept their certification up to date as of June 30, 2026 or were CRSB Certified between January 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026, and completed all related eligibility requirements for our program, will receive an incentive payment of $400.

The incentive program will continue annually, with future annual incentive payments based on CRSB Certified beef sold. Any future payments will be calculated based on available funds and distributed evenly among all eligible beef producers.

“The CRSB Certified Producer Incentive is an important step forward for the program, but more importantly, it’s a way to recognize producers for the work they are already doing. Becoming CRSB Certified takes commitment, and this incentive is a thank you from the CRSB and our supply chain partners to producers who have made that investment. Recognizing and rewarding that commitment helps move our industry forward and gives us another opportunity to share with Canadians the great work happening on beef operations across the country,” says Andrea Stroeve-Sawa, Chair of the CRSB and beef producer from Taber, AB.
