Who is involved in the CRSB?

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) is a member-based non-profit organization comprised of stakeholders across the beef sector and beyond with a common vision that the Canadian beef value chain is a global leader in environmental, social and economic sustainability and part of a trusted and thriving food system.

Members represent beef producer associations, beef processors and associations, retail and food service companies, agriculture and food businesses, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and other supporters, government representatives and scientific researchers. CRSB Certified producers are also eligible as CRSB members. 

Who makes the decisions for the CRSB Certified Program?

The CRSB Certified program is operated by Certified Sustainable Beef Framework Canada and is governed by its Board of Directors. The CRSB’s Framework Committee reviews and makes recommendations for the program, which are adopted by CRSB Council.

How is the program funded?

The CRSB Certified program is funded in part through CRSB member fees, external funding sources and program fees collected by CRSB Certified supply chains.

How much does certification cost?

Cost for the certification process is set individually by the Certification Body, at their sole discretion, and may vary depending on the type and size of operation. For details on Certification Bodies, see Certification Process page.
